AutoCAD drawing to equipment

You can easily retrieve object position from an AutoCAD drawing and use it to automatically place equipment inside the Revit.

This script shows workflow for a situation when you need to retrieve the position of diffusers and to automatic place them in Revit by using three different types of devices.

The script is light and it runs in a fraction of a second. It uses only one custom package to retrieve lines from AutoCAD.

Please make sure that before you start using this script that you back up your existing project model.

Also, if you want to download this (and all other scripts) with my sample files please visit the Shop page.

The script uses the following Dynamo packages:

BimorphNodes v.3.0.3

  1. Hi, I am not able to buy access to your scripts from your website.. I am from Singapore in Asia. There is an error about the international regulations. Is there an alternative payment channel?

  2. Hello, i want to place some Fire alarm devices from a CAD file to a Revit one. I changed the script so it can place the devices instead of air supply terminals, but when i run the script, it overlaps my devices so instead of 65 i have 165(it’s just an example). What changes i have to do so the script will run properly?
