The purpose of this video is to show you the basics which you will need if you like to create dimensions from the Dynamo.
This time we want to discover the case when we need to place dimensions between the interior side of the wall and the closest side of the elements like ducts and cable trays. I did succeed to run the script also for the walls and columns but I’m not sure if that has a practical use.
As you can see in the video the script will need further improvement because in the example from the video for the 12 ducts the script created 11 dimensions, which is good enough but it is not perfect.
As we did the last time, generated dimensions are really referenced to the walls and ducts/cable trays so if you move those elements and the value of the dimension will also change.
Please make sure that before you start using this script that you back up your existing project model.
Also, if you want to download this (and all other scripts) with my sample files please visit the Shop page.
The script uses the following Dynamo packages: GeniusLoci v.2020.8.20 Clockwork v.2.3.0
Hello, is there a chance that i can add the dimension (side to side) from a structure/arhitecture that is linked?
Hi, I think that I already create that kind of the script for one client. You can see how that script works: https://youtu.be/E31_lLd1ptk?si=fIJqLFK_zKXOcLX0
